What participants and others are saying about the I Create What I Believe! program.
(Excerpt from Foreword)
"...Nancy Marie's art exercises provide children and adults with an alternative way to consciously release the stress or pressure that is building up in their system. These exercises enable the participants to both express their emotions and generate more constructive responses. They are so simple and adaptable and can be used in almost any situation to effectively redirect energy without having to consciously focus on the prevailing situation. These activities can actually become part of a child's behavioral "download" wherein they automatically provide constructive responses in place of current destructive pre-programmed responses they may be engaging now. Constructive pattern interrupts release stressful pressures, clear perceptions, and pave the way for more wholesome behaviors and resolutions."
- Bruce Lipton, Ph.D.
Author of The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, and Miracles
"Nancy Marie's I Create What I Believe! art program is a groundbreaking tool for helping both young and old to access their true nature, shrouded in the mists of acquired beliefs and learned perspective. The utterly simple exercises effortlessly and gracefully sidestep our wily intellect, always searching for confirmatory data in support of our thinking errors. With this program Marie has truly made a significant contribution to those seeking an effective avenue to authenticity."
- Susan D. Elsom, Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist, Oregon
"From the view point of a 42 year old male, husband and father of three, a former Army Medic and Nurse, Firefighter, and Kaiser Nurse Case Manager, I feel compelled to endorse and spread the word of the I Create What I Believe! instruction and of Nancy Marie! I find that the method has profound beneficial implications, in all of the various roles, professions and venues that I had and currently enjoy. The instruction and application is so simplistic yet profound in depth."
- Michael Beery, California
"With the increased pressures of school, dysfunctional families, and social interactions, many students need a way to release these burdens they have accumulated. Nancy's program provides a fun, yet effective way for both children and young adults to let go and resolve many issues they have internalized. I use her program as one of my regular counseling tools."
- Mary Olson
Counselor, Secondary School, California
"Nancy Marie's simple exercises are surprisingly effective. They have the power to transform programmed patterns and beliefs and thus facilitate growth and change quickly and effortlessly."
- Faye Kimura LCSW, California
"I Create What I Believe! is a first-aid kit to help explore creativity. It is an intuition-opening tool conceived by Nancy Marie for families and/or class use, with gem-like guidance about what each exercise can stimulate. The explorations allow play and spontaneous artistic experience to mend some frazzled areas of our life, and satisfy our self-search. Peppered with relevant quotes and tied to real examples from art history, Nancy Marie's art program is both inspiring and inviting. In a time and place where creativity is becoming subservient to marketing urges, this program reminds us that we do create what we believe while planting a seed to help our natural longings unfold."
- Anca Hariton,
Elementary School Teacher, California
"I've used the I Create What I Believe! program by myself and with my gifted students. Most of my students love to draw so they were enthusiastic from the beginning. What none of us knew was how much we would each learn about ourselves. We also received the following benefits: the ability to create calmness at will; ability to removed learning blocks and access more of what we know and finally learn more ways to get ourselves unstuck in problem solving situations. The most exciting thing is that this program gives people of all ages a life-long tool for personal growth and self-examination..."
- Kay Wallach, Ed.D., Teacher of Gifted Students, Arizona
"It's like there's part of me that's finally able to talk that couldn't until now".
- Fourth grader, Arizona
"For twelve years I have worked as a Yoga Instructor and my yoga teaching focus is the age group 3 - 18 years. Often, when yoga classes are held after school the students come in restless, with a desire to center, ground and focus but with no personal tools accessible to help them. My usual routine is to start class with Oms (Chanting) and meditation but frequently the children are depleted, unsettled, anxious, etc. When I know they are not ready to sit still I switch my routine to the I Create What I Believe! art program. Out come the crayons and paper and I invite the children to scribble using the correct sequence I learned in the I Create What I Believe! training. One five year old finished the scribbling exercise and looked at her artwork. With a big sigh of relief she said "I don't have to be angry anymore, my anger is on the paper - I can be happy." This is just one example of how the I Create What I Believe! art program grounds, centers and focuses children. The simple, short and easy to use art techniques release emotions and behavior patterns children know they do not want but are frustrated because they cannot be free of them. The transformation is actively experienced by the children and they empower themselves at a deep level to touch their true essence - love, joy, peace and truth."
- Juanita Lucero, California
"I recommend the I Create What I Believe! program to anyone who feels stuck. You don't need a crowbar any more; all you need is a crayon. These delightful tools can help you open up your inner treasure and create a more joyous life."
- Elizabeth Fenwick, "I am passionate about painterly photography"

"In our society's determination to raise test scores and to establish accountability, it often seems as if we have neglected our equally important responsibility to nurturing the creative and intuitive parts of ourselves. Thank you Nancy, for reminding us of the importance of developing the whole being."
- Roosevelt Watson, Special Day Class Teacher, California
"The I Create What I Believe program will be a breath of fresh air for educators everywhere seeking to infuse their classrooms with creativity and out-of-the-box thinking."
- Jeff Goelitz, The Institute of HeartMath
"What can I say? Nancy Marie has done it again! Who would have thought that drawing with crayons could open new paths towards health and healing? It's such a subtle shift, working on a cellular level, but nonetheless a major one. In my life, people have been quite vocal as to the changes that have taken place. My own blood pressure has lowered by twenty points on both ends. Not to mention the heightened sense of intuition that I've been experiencing since I began I Create What I Believe!. No need for explanations or hype - the results speak for themselves. And it's such an easy method of 'internal house cleaning'. 'Scribbling' is NOT just for kids anymore!"
- DJK, New Jersey
"...I have more confidence and optimism about overcoming and moving through obstacles now. I have also had some major breakthroughs about my underlying my thoughts and beliefs. I feel I am more aware now, and can confront these things with greater ease..."
- M. H., Massachusetts
"I am impressed by how the simplicity and exquisite depth that these exercise can bring understanding into our lives. I have used them with clients who have found them beneficial and gained meaningful insights very quickly. They are especially helpful for people who do not feel articulate with their feelings, yet need a means for expressing them. I recommend this program for personal and clinical use with adult and children."
- Michaela McGivern, OTL, Intuitive Healer
"Working with the exercises Nancy Marie developed in her book I Create What I Believe! was a breakthrough for my 11 year-old son. Understanding his unique learning style helped him gain confidence and helped me (his mom) know how to support him in starting to recognize his own unique intelligence and gifts."
- Renee Getreu, Building Assets Program Director,
Jefferson Economic Development Institute
"The I Create What I Believe! workshop was a wonderful experience and catapulted me forward. I appreciated that Nancy Marie was sensitive to each participant and to the uniqueness of the group. It was quietly powerful."
